STOKE. ROAD BOARD. The monthly meeting cf the -Stoke Road Board was held en Saturday last. Present : .Messrs W. Coleman ,). Best. F.. Chisnall, and H. C. Jacka. (Chairman), H. Lankow, J. E. Baitlett, Minutes wore read and confirmed, and the Overse:. 's report adopted. The Overseer in his report stated that since tho last meeting of the Board 82 loads cf gravel had been taken from Jacka's stream, 11 loads being put on Giblin's road, eight on road near Jacka's, and tlie balanco of 63 Loads on the usu.il place under the gum trees. The Orphanage road required repairing, and the manager of the institution had agreed to supply carts if the Board would put men in tlie pit and spre.id the gravel. Owing to the banks slipping the water-table on Parker's read had filled up, causing the water to run down the middle rf tha rord. Rrts also required fillinc in near Yr- Heath's <iato. Patching h.id b?en done on Best's road, Annleby. and the crossing at tin creak had . been filled in and packed v. ith manuka 7i the bottom side. R-). It was resolved that members cf the distiict, with the Ov > eer, \isit Rocks Road, with power to act. Mr I. TunniclitTe, president of the Wakefield Farmers' Union, wrote inviting thj Board t-i appr.int a delegate for proposed cr.nfeicm.-3 in referents to State farm. Mr Ccleman wrs appointed to rep esent the Beard. Accounts amounting to £30 12s 6d were passed for payment.
