The competitions counting for the Championships are now concluded for . this season, and, as wm expected r.f him, Vice-President Milrov has upheld his reputation as a brilliant and consistent rifle shot, his aggregate score of 'ISO for 112 shots being 4i over iiiiicis, a truly sterling achievement, whicli would be hard to beal in any part of the world, and the ex-Champion of New Zealand well deserves the valuable gold medal presented by Mr C. V. Fell (one of the Club's Patrons) for the highest i aggregate in the "A" Class. Rifleman I Milner also shot well and consisltnety Milner also shot well and consistently, and finished within nine points of the winner, his performance of scoring two possibles at long ranges on the same day has not been equalled in the colony this season ; Rifleman J. E. Sherwood and R. Catley tied for third place, with scores of 447 eaeh, and in the shoot-off the former gained the verdict. In the "B" Class, Rifleman C. K. Ward wins the gold medal, presented by Mr W. A. Harris, of the Singer Machine Company, his score being 421 points, Rifleman J. F. Kitching being next witn 401, Rifleman C. P. Howard and J. Holland securing the other two prizes. A few prominent marksmen failed to get all their "shoots" in, through being absent from the district at various times. The competitions that counted for the aggregate prizes in both classes were two matches at each of the following double ranges (seven shots at each range), 200 and 300 vards, 500 and 600 yards, 600 and 700 yards, and 800 and 900 yards, the targets for the latter ranges being two feet narrower than the regulation size. The season's shooting has been a very succer<sfii! ono, a large number of new members taking part. Before closing down for the winter months there will be a Handicap Competition among all members, both active and honorary, for cash prizes provided for by the sale of the empty cartridge shells, "the value of the latter having risen considerably this last few months.
