AUCKLAND'S PROGRESS.
AUCKLAND, Thursday. An indication of the growth of trade at the port of Auckland is furnished by a return just compiled by the Customs Department. During the quarter ended March 31st last thj, total value of exports was £1,008,7t6, which is easily a record, exceeding the previous best quarter, which ended on December 31st last. The value of the imports was £1,012,510, as compared with the record total of £1,121,070 of last December quarter, being an decrease of £108,560, although the duty collected— £l97,767— exceeded that of the previous quarter by £6000.
