. GISBORNE, Monday. borne friction occurred at the Gisborne Freezing Company's Works through the men in the fellmongery department bickering over the recent strike of slaughtermen, and the subsequent Court proceedings. A fight ensued between two men yestreday afternoon one being an old unionist, and the other having recently joined. The former was adjudged the aggressor and dismissed according to the custom in the case of fighting. The other fellmongers alleged that the new unionist was to blame, and as a protest ceased to work last night. They applied to be reinstated in a body, but the management refused. This morning 15 men were absent from their places jtt k M " filled. It is understood that the Union will take no part in the matter.
