MASQUERADING IN MALE ATTIRE.
AUCKLAND, Monday. A young woman, named Bertha Victor, alias Levi, who was before the Court a few days ago on a charge of drunkenness, and during the hearing of which it was stated that she had been masquerading ill male attire, was | charged this morning before Mr Kettle, ! S.M., with insobriety, using obscene language, and with being an idle and disorderly person, having insufficient lawful means of support. The defendant entered Court clad in an ordinary blue coat and vest, with a blue silk scarf round her neck, and wearing brown trousers and heavy boots. She was convicted on each charge, and remanded for a week for sentence.
