t. a WELLINGTON, Tuesday. 1 he Appeal Court this morning heard applications for striking off the roll Harry Francis and Francis Henry Bruges, solicitors. The former, who practised at Christcburch, had pleaded guilty to several charges of theft, and on January last he was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment. There was no appearance for prisoner, and the motion was made absolute with costs. Bruges also practised at Cliristchnrch, and with his managing nlerk, Goodman, was convicted of theft of certain trust funde, when Goodman was sentenced to two years. Bruges had applied for a new trial on tne ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence Th£ application was granted, and at the new trial he was acquitted.
