Mr James Carroll, Native Minister, conferred with the natives in this district yesterday. Among other things he said the natives wanted ta take up dairy farming, and were anxious to acquire technical education. ■ WELLINGTON, Thurs. . The Parrington estate at Carrington, 75,0t\ seres, is to be acquired by the Government for closer settlement purposes. The price offered is understood to be £9 Ss an acre.
