' LATEST DETAILS. , ' 175 KILLED AND MISSING. ' 44 IN THE HOSPITAL. HEROISM OF OFFICERS . (Received March 14, 8.28 a.m.) ~ — PARIS, Wednesday. It is officially announced that out of 630 of the crew, 407 and 24 others aboard the Jena are uninjured, leaving •175 killed and raissiing. . A fragment, of the debris from the explosion cut off the arm of Lieutenant aboard the Bouvet, which was in.thevdpck next to the Jena. . A bursting shell killed Lieutenant Roux, who was- trying to open a sluice. Six of his companions, however, .continued the work amid a hail of projectile's. : M.- Thomson 1 , Minister of Marine, attributes the explosion to a short circuit, which^wfls possibly due to the explosion of compressed air breaking Some of the electrical wires. - -The" Kaiser has sent condolence with France. Sir Ed. Grey, British Foreign Secretary, has also condoled with France on behalf of Britain. ■ -About ; 3880 melinite shells were among the Jena's explosive;. .
