I Messrs A. Moritzson and Co. report as follows on the Dunedin fruit market ' nnder date Ist February : — There is a good demand for all varieties of choice dessert fruit, also for jam fruit, which ,are all in short supply owing to our local fruits not heing ready for the market yet. Tha supply of apples has been very short, and consignments have met a fair demand and market. Apples— Dessert, 361 b eases, 7s 6d to 8s 6d per caae, cookers 3s 6d to 4s 6d, choice do up to 5s 6d, jelly Id per lb. Plums— Tbviot jam 2d to 2£d, dessert 3d to 4d. North Island burbanks 4s 6<l to 6s per box, Ogons 4s to 5s 6d, Satsumas 5s 6d to 7s. Pears — Australian, Bon Chretien 11s to 14a per case, local choice 7s to 8s 6d, inferior and small at relative prices. Apricots — Teviot scarce. Jam 2jd to 3J per lb, choice 4d to sd. Peaches — Teviot scarce. Jam 2|d to 3Jd per Ib, choice 4d to s£d. Tomatoes — Plentiful. Hothouse, local, 7d to Bd, Christchurch s£d to 6£d, Nelson and Auckland out-door grown 3s A :L to 4s 6d per 181 b box.
