FATAL FALL FROM A GIG. [United Press Association.]

' . CARTERTON, Thursday. Kingi Ngatuere, the well-known Maori chief, died yesterday from injuries sustained by a fall from a gig on Saturday night. He was the son of the noted chief Ngatuere Tawhiri Matea, of the Ngatimo tribe. He was twice married, and leaves a widow, five daughters, and two sons. It is anticipated that the tangi will rival anything of the kind yet held in the colony.
