SOCIAL TO THE PREMIER.

A public social will be held at the Provincial Sail this evefling to welcome Sir Joseph Ward. The pro-, gramme will include a speech of welcome by the Mayor and reply by Sir J. G. Ward. Other speakers will be the mertlfeer for Nelson (Mr Graham), aijd Messrs Reeves and F. Trask, '•Ms.li^C, but all speakers, save the Mayor and the Premier, are to be requested to occupy not more than five minutes each. A number of musical items, vocal and instrumental, will be rendered, and a time is set apart for a chat. The Garrison Band will perform selections outside the Hall prior to 8 o'clock.
