DEATH AFTER AN ASSAULT. 'AUCKLAND, This Day. Mrs Morris, an aged widow, who was brutally assaulted at her residence, Mangere, two months ago, died yesterday. Before her death she made a statement that two Maoris had violently assaulted her. As some £45 was in the house at the time, it is supposed that robbery was the motive of the assault. Up to tho present no information concerning the perpetrators is available.
