THE TOURIST DEPARTMENT TO NOTE.
To the Editor. Sir,- 1 notice tbat the Government of* fioers df tbe Tcnriafc Department are in Nelson. If it is not a part of the : r programme could th«y not he induced to make it not and visit the Wairca Gorge ? I have seen * good deal of Ne* Zealand scenery, and I am confident that tnat ne» tireen Brightwater and tbe Forks is very hard to.beat. I often wonder morels not m«de of it as an outing, from Nelsonboth for tourists and gsyknte. A drive from Brightwater to wakefield ria the Wairoa Gorge is one of the most delight', ful eatings I know of in the neighbours hood, aula very Tittte.outlay in tha way of road improvement suoula make it tbe most popular of Kelson district " beauty spits. The road has been much Jm-» E roved of late ytars, and doubtless would a more used if attention were directed to the fact that there are to be seen on that trip pieces of .as magnificent scenery as can be seen on tbe Buller. The Gor* erfiihent photographer, lam sure, woultt be well repaid for a visit there. II am, etc., "EDWIN ALLANSOH. Te Arowhenua, Wakefield, 13/3.03.
