INQUEST ON MR. DODGSHUN

Robhoson, Coroner, pn the body of the late Mr Nathaniel Dodgshun, who wa* killed on Saturday through being thrown from a horse. .The Following j ary wa , empanelled j -Messrs E. S. ttalrey (foreman), W. Ailicen, H. Organ, W. Newtb, VV. O. Jonos, and J. HurfordGedaare ßobertson, carpenter, at Brightwater, deposed that he last saw Mr Dodgshun alive on Saturday at 8,30 am. • wa* riding a rather ft«fktr&rd. horse and tho same horse bad been workocf in a trap by the deceased for a few dnys, and it had been playing up with, hiyn r rearing; jibbing; and backing; Mr Dudgsihun was a poor rider, Mr Dodgshun rode Over to h?s gate and spoke (o a young man there. He then went on down the road. The horse made a '* prop "or two, and Mr Dodgshun came pff< Witness saw the fall, tho horSe going on, Mr Dodgshun did nit move, aud deceased ran to the spot,' but before getting thsre Mr Harris was packing the deoaased up. Witness had not seen Mr Dodgshua on the same horse before. Assisted Hsrr'B (otake Mr Dodgsbtra to Dr. Fearless. Ilia deceased \Vua hot conscious. Dr Poarless was not at the -surgery. W.tness then took Mr Dodgshun* to his (Mr Dodgsbnn's) own h me, w'h'cb sta3 near afc hand, Dr, Pearioss wfc called by telephone and arrived ih half ari hotir.
Walter Kalph Pearless, medical surgoon, stated that on arriving ho found Mr Diidg^huu quito uncuneci itis, and was dyinp. Nothin? could be dono to pave Mr Dodijahun's life, as* tha neck was fractured. Mr Dodgshun died in a quarter of au hour from tho time of wJtnoss' arrival.
Tho jury returned a ferliot that death tvaß duo to aocMontally falling from a horse whereby the nock iraa broken.
