EXPLOSION OF ABSINTHE
PARIS, August 13. Lightning exploded some vat 3 containing 600,000 gallons of absinthe. The Pernods distillery, on the Pontarlier Kiver, in the Department; of Aube, became a blazii g rmss, and ran on fr'- the river, which waa transformed into a flo d of fire. The loss is estimated at £320,000.
