fXTNITXD PBBBS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, August 13. The s.s. GleneJg, which anived at Onehu^ga from Hokianga yesterday, had a lively experience on the passage. A heavy gale was blowing from the Bouthwest, with a he >vy sea, and shortly after leaving Kawarua an accident happened to the machinery, which di>abled the st amer, leaving her almost ar the mercy of the wind and waves. The steamer was in such close proximity to Maunganui Bluff that the breakers could be plainly snen, and the steamer was gradually being drifted towards the shore. A horsebox was put over to act as a sea anchor, but it had 1 ttle effect, and it s<emed that the vessel would go aahore. After hours of anxiety, she was brough out of her perilous position by the aid of sails, and temporary repairs having been effected below, the steamer made her pray under sail and easy steam to Onehuoga,
