WELLINGTON, This Day. j Mr Pirani asked in the House yesterday if it was intended to take any steps [ to recover nearly five years' interest ofl a loan of £16,000 due to the Post Office Sav ngs tfajk by the Hokitik* Harbour ; Board. The Postmaster-General replied that if the Board were (riven & reasonable time there was around for believing that the whole of the liabilities would be met. In the last twelve months had been [ paid, and on the 31st December last there . was £2118 due. The Government, Sir Joseph Ward went on to say, did not intend to release the Hara boor Board from its obligation to the ' colony, but, recognising that the Board . waß doing it« best nnder somewhat adverse circumstances, Ministers wanted " to help it all they couid by giving it time \ t j pay its debts.
