STOCK REPORT.

Messrs Bisley Brothers and Co. report as follows. — Sheep.— For this time of the year considerable lines of fats are changing hands i both privately and by public auction. Prices continue to rule high for all classes and values are fully on parity with Can- j terbury, and if anything are generally higher than prices now obtained in the North Island. This is no doubt owing to to the scarcity of both fats and stores. There are a number of grazers unable to secure stores, and in many cases owners who iu the past have been selling at this time of year are at the moment lightly stocked and are buyers. Cattle.— Although there is a general scarcity of fat and store cattle, prices are 28 per cent lower than either North island or Canterbury values. There appears t» be no desire on the part of rearers in the Nelson province to increase herds. Owners of young store cattle could well advance their values and hold for 5s per year over prices now offering. [ Horses- Values here in common with all parts of the colony are easier, chiefly no doubt owing to the time of year, when thoy become a heavy cost to owners for feed, but hrst-class trap, express, and heavy draught horsea are maintaining their values and soiling fairly well. Pigs. — baconers, porkers, and well grown stores continue to sell well, and should do so in the face of good prices being paid for pork at bacon factories. But weaners and backward stores are neglected, in fact almost unsaleable. This is unaccountable, especially in the face of feed stuff being sold so cheaply. For the last fortnight we have made considerable sales, Ihe following are some of the particulars of lines cleared and prices realised.— On acccount of Mr F. Sutton, fat wethers 16s, 16s 4d, A 6b 6d.
