WEDDING BELLS.
A popular aud pretty wedding was hold on the 20th instant in St. James Church, Ngatimoti. The bride, Maud Emily Treacher, is the third daughter ot Mr E F. Burrell, who has been a resident of this district for more than thirty year*. The bridegroom, Mr Walter Grirhn Boat-son, is the second son of Mr David Beatson, who also made his home here about 34 years ago. Miss Burrell was for some time a Sunday school teacher, The church was very nicely decorated tor the occasion, and Mr Baker, tho officfating minister, conducted the service in an impressive manner, and also wished the bride whose birthday it was, many happy returns of the day. The bridesmaid- were the younger sisters of the bride and the two younger sisters of the bridegroom. Mr Guthrie Beatson, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. Mr Guy Holder preside _. at _*.c orga_i, and there was a full choir under the leadership of Mr C. E. Beatson, choirmaster. The Sunday school children, to the number of about 35 to 40, under the superintendent (Miss F. Heath) and staff of teachers, strewed flowers in front of the bridal party as they left the church. The local cricket club lent and spread their matting from the church door to the gate. The interior of the church was nicely decorated with flowers, and very conspicuous was the arch and bell over the altar. The party were entertanod by Mr and Mrs Burrell at PerTton to afternoon tea, and later in the evening the bride and bridegroom left for their future home, Hillside Cottage, Ngatimoti, bearing the best wishes of all their friends and relations for their future happiness. They were the recipients of many valuable and beautiful presents. As tlie bride and bridegroom left the church the folk gave them quite a heavy shower of rice, while the Sunday school scholars threw flowers. There was scarcely standing room in the church, friends of the bride and bridegroom coming from Motueka, the Mouteres, and Pokororo.
