ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board, at which all the members were present, was held on Friday, the Ist inst The minutes of the previous monthly meeting having been read and adopted, accounts for £2 16s were passed for payment. Correspondence was read as follows : — From the Waimea County Council, declining to take action in opening a new road from Waiwero down to the Motneka River, aa they consider it unnecessary. . From Mr John Del&ney, re amount outstanding duo on his late son's account. From Riwaka Uoad Board, with copy of resolution endorsing tho Board's protest re proclamation of Motneka River as a sludgo channel, in connection with which latter subject a deputation from Panga- ' totara waited on the Board. Besolved, That the late Mr Delaney's account be paid when thirds are received as previously agreed upou. Resolved that it be suggested to interested persons ' in Pangatotara that it would be advisable to send a deputation to Wellington in support of tho petition now being circulated against the proposal to proclaim Motueka river a sludge channel. Resolved that an additional £1 be voted for purchase of small birds' eggs. Resolved that the Public Trustee be written to and again asked to expedite his action re protective works on Motueka river.
