A COMPULSORY HALF-#OLIDAY. THE EULE BELATING TO HOTELS. Under the "Alcoholic Liquors Sale Act, 1895," it is compulsory that the day upon which the licensing poll is taken "(Wednesday, the 6th December, is to be obserTed as a public holiday after 12 (noon), and all licensed premises must be closed from 12 till Tin the evening. The public offices will be closed at noon, and tho day is already the statutory hall-holiday.
