DEATH OF THE KEY. W. COLENSO.

[United Press Association,] NAPIER, This Day. The Eev. VT. Colenso, P.K.S., F.L.S., one of New Zealand's earliest settles, died this morning at his residence, aged 68. He bad been ailing for some time, but death was not expected so soon. It was he who introdored into New Zealand the first printing pres^, wbich was landed in the Bay of Islands en January 3rd, 1835. He was a devoted student of science, aud had been an sctive contributor to the transactions of tbe New Zealand Institute for the last 20 years. He bas leit three sods to mourn his death.
