PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES.

Grade IV.— Maud Shone. Heleu Whitehorn, Thomas Scott. In the course of his speech iv presenting the certificates, Mr Joynt reviewed the work done by the School of Music during its five years of existence, and spoke of the uesfulness and value of the institution. He gave credit to the teachers for their earnest attention to their duties. He referred to the recent appointment of Mr Naylor, and to the approaching retirement of Misa Fell. On behalf of the Trustees he assured Miss Fell of their regret at losing her services, and he testified to her worth as a teacher. Mr Joynt also alluded to the recent examinations, and to the need for a more commodious building for the purposes of the school, detailing the efforts now being made in conjunction with the Harmonic Society to erect a suitable hall. In conclusion Mr Joynt announced that Mis 3 Edith Kempthorne had won the annual scholarship provided by Mrs Monro (Miss Jackson), After the distribution of the certificates Miss Fell waa presented, on behalf of the pupils, with a case of handsome silver tea spoons. Those pupils who have won certificates, but did not receive them last night, may obtain them from the Secretary on application.
