ABANDONMENT HE NEW DUTIES.

[United Press Association] SYDNEY, November 2.!. In the Legislative Assembly Mr Reid, the Premier, announced his intention to abandon the poposed duties on cocoa, coffee, and chicory, owing to the small amount the? are likely to yield. The question of tea duties is under discussion to-night. The Premier states that unless he gets the tea duty the OU Age Pensions must be indefinitely postponed. This is a move to checkmate the labour partv which opposes the duty.
