Bennett irc°Katon" Were ** terwardß > ntert » l| wd by , The football match between the Te Ante team and the Motueka and Eiwafca repesehtattves was played on Wednesday and resulted in a win for the natives by 87 points to nU, The defeat of the local team was not so orushing as ..the 1 scores would imply, as the forwards were well matched, the Te Aute monof this division no^ being up to their Mual standard. The superiority of the visitors basics gave them, however, a great advantage. Eleven tries in all were obtained, and of these Terei gained six. Two of his trie* were converted, one by him«elf and one by Waiti. Kohere scored thiee times, and Buck and W. Pohio each got over the line once, none of these scores being enhanced by the attempt at goal. The Te Aute team were photographed before the match. On Wednesday evening the Te Aute boys gave an entertainment in the Motueka Institute. There was a good attendance, and the entertainment was greatly appreciated.
