The Nelson Jookey Club were again favoured with fine, though cloudy weather, for the second day's racing yesterday. The 'only rain that fell was a 'sprinkle about three o'clock, but the threatening aspect had a marked effect on the attendance, which was rather meagre. Good sport was again provided, most ol the finishes being very interesting, though not so close as on ths previous day. Tho scratching of Rhoderick Dhu for the Hurdles afforded a walk over in the stakes to Try Her, the winner of the similar event of the lirst day. The other events were well contested by the small fields entered, the feature of the day being the splendid running of Hillstone, who annexed- the Richmond Park and All Aged Stakes, thus winning the three eveuts of the meeting in whiclT he started. In the All Aged Stakes he just succeeded, with list up, in beating Sing Song on the post. His viotory in the Richmond Park Stakes was also won after a <?ood race, and in eaoh case the result was greeted with cheers, The IRiohmond horse, Seabird, won both the hack races with comparative ease, and in the latter of tho two races paid the biggest dividend of the day, viz., £5 12s. Tho sum of .£1759 10s was put through the totalisator. being an advance of £43 on the first day's amount. Tho The total for the two days was £3 476, or £762 less than last year. Mr F. N. Jones and Mr Intemann conducted the machine to the satisfaction of all. Tho Stoke Orphanage Band again supplied the musio, and a collection in/heir favour, taken up by Mr Jorgensen, the owner of Straatbbraan, yielded each of the boys a dividend of 3s 6d, the total amount received being £7.
