THE CYCLISTS ALLIANCE AND THE LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN.
PROPOSED AMALGAMATION. [United Press Association.] CHBISTCHUECH, Sept. 15. The Leagus of NJS. Wheelmen'and tho ' N.Z. Cyclists Alliance each held meetings to-night, when a.echeme of amalgamation of tbe two bodies was considered. Tho Alliance passed a resolution, carried by LI to 7, that it was not desirable in the interests of amateur cycling that that body should amalgamate with the League. It was decided to advertise for a paid Secretary at .£ls per annum. An application from the Wanganui Club to hold next year's championship there was held over. The League ab its meeting decided in favour of amalgamation by 20 votes to 4. The delegates took the view that the League should cater for amateur cycling-, and i motion was carried giving the Executive power to take what steps it deemed advisable in the League's interest. An alteration was also made to the rules by which all Cycling Clubs could, be charged 2} per cent oa prJ2e money arid spora promoters 6 per cent, in order to assist the revenue « the League.
