THE CHURCHES.

THE CATHEDRAL

The Cathedral was tastefully decorated for Christmas with foliage and texts, ferns, ivy, and white flowers blending exquisitely with crimson draping. On Christmas morniog the Rev. J. P. Keniptborne preached Co a full congregation, Lord Glasgow and suite being present. Iv the evening the carol service was largely attended, and the music was very atcractive Miss Nina Moore presided at the organ, and the following programme was rendered :— Hymn 60, " Hark ! the Herald Angels Sing " ; carol, " The Morning Star"; song, "Light in Darkness," (Cowen), Miss K. Fell ; anthem, " Thus speaketh the Lord of Hosts," (J. Stainer) j song, " Dream of Paradise," (Hamilton Gray), Mr B. A. Moore j carol, "Sleep, Holy Babe"; song, "The Children's Kingdon," (Blnmentbal), Miss Hunt; anthem, "Sing, 0 Heavens." (Berthold Tours); organ solo, Andante in G, (E. Batiste , Miss Nina Moore i carol, "Cradle Song of the Blessed Virgin »; trio, "Lift Thine Eyes," (Elijah), Mrs Honlt, Mrs Walker, and Miss Pratt : song, " The Holy Shrine," (Newton), Mr A. C. Maginnity; choru?, " And the Glory of tbe Lord." (Handel) ; air and chorus, "Oh Thou that tellest good tidings of Zion," (Handel), Miss Hunt ; chorus, " For unto us n Child is Born," (Handel) ; air, *' He shall feed His Floe-," (Handel), Miss Hunt; ohorns, " Hallelujah," (Handel).
