Amnesty to Armenia.
Change of Feeitng in France. [United Press Association.] Constamtoople, December 23, Tlie Portn has issued a decree granting an amnesty to all Armenians except the hundred wlio were sentenced to death, including two Bishops. These will receive a commutation, and be interned in fortresses. The European Dmbassies have compelled tho Sultan to refrain from granting an amnesty also to the murderer of Father Salvatore, London, December 28. The "Pall Mall Gazette " says that the movements of the Turkish troops which were lately disbanded ia causing great alarm in Syria, where a massucre is feared. M. Nelidok, the Eussian .Envoy, in his interview with the Sultan, asked for a partial amnesty to bo declared, but the other Embassies are in favour of making it general. Paius, December 23. "Le Temps," which formerly supportod tho Porte, has suddenly changed its tone, and now attacks the Sultan, expressing sympathy with the Armenians. "Figaro" publishes a stinging attack on M. Nelidoff, accusing him of failing to | i support France.
