FAST WHEELS MIKE FAST MEN FASTER. At the Wellington Exhibition Races on Wednesday, October 28th, Waltham and Dayton Riders won every event they started in. Mr F. Hunt, on a Waltham, started in three races and won three firsts, breaking the local records in every race. The " Evening Fost " of Thursday, Oct. 29th, says : — " The way he goi speed out of his machine was almost a revelation to the other riders—he simply made an ex hibition of the field." At the same race meeting the Five Mile Amateur Kaoe was won by Mr T. M. Lucy ON A DAYTON. A splendid reoord was made on Monday, Oct. 26th, by Mr W. A, Thompson, who lowered the Nelf,on-Foxhill record by 15mins 128608, riding the distance (44 miles) in 2hrs Hmins 48 sees, or at an averagespeed of 20 miles an hour. Hx miles of this record is over hilly roads, and Mr Thompson was delayed by two spills on the journey. Mr ihompson rode the same machine (a Quadrant) that he made the record from Napier to Woodville with last autumn, riding the distance (100 miles) in 7hrs 23mius. Mr T. M. Lucy, on a Quadrant, rode from Wellington to Masterton over the Rimmaka in 5£ hours on October 18th, and returned the same day, being the first cyclist to accomplish this feat. Mr p, Maodonald, the well-known Ohrisiohurch amateur rider, says : — " I received the Dayton racer in first-tlasa order. I must say that I am thoroughly well satisfied with it, For finish and workmanship it cannot be surpassed. It is tho easiest and besi position 1 have yet been on, and the handles are simply perfect." Dayton is up to date. It ib the handsomest and most rigid machine in existencs. Waltham leads the leaders. It holds the unpaead record of the world for a mile mrde by the famous American rider, W, 0.
