Simpson, repreaentatige of the N.w Zealand Cyclist Alliance, won the three-mile test race, and also won his heat in the half-mile test, but was beaten by Goodson, of Queensland, in the five-mile teat. In the three mile test matoh si., out of the eight Btarters stopped, as they anticipated there would be a fresh start, bimpgon, of New Zealand, beat Kerr, the N.S.W. champion, by a couple of lengths. Time 9min 25 1-5 sees. Simpson won his heat in the half mile in lmin 28 2-ssecs, while Kerr was placed in the sticend heat in lmin 19 _-5 sees. In the five mile test match Simpson beat Kerr, but Goodson, of Queensland won, by a length. Time 14 rain 41 4-sth sees. The chief positions' aro to be decided by points, and at present the score stands thus : Simpson, 5 points ; Kerr, 3 ; Goodson, 2 ; Marsden 1.
