THE FINAL TEST MATCH.
Just as the mail is leaving some exciting news has coma to band with reference to the final test matoh between EorUv d and Australia, nhiob is fixed for the first three days of next week. It appears that tho English professionals nre Uissatisfled with their remuneration, and at the last moment the pick of the English team have refused to take pact in the match unless they ace offered much larger fees than they have hitherto received, Very great interest is taken in these nmtehes, and in consequence the gate money is very much heavier than on ordinary occasions. Those who have refused to play give this as a reason for their condnot. The Committee of the Surrey County Club, whose duty it is to select the team for thignmtoh, havo positively refused to pay larger foes, and have in consequence seleotod other other men far inferior in every respeot to those who played for England in the lost two matches. 4f an amicable settlement cannot be arrived at, there is little doubt that the Australian team will return to the oolonies victorious, 8.M.8.-S.
