The forecast of the Governor's Spoecb at the opening of Parliament has been issued. To iimibl.B the colony to take part in Australian Federation, one of the first measures to be brought forward is the new Customs Duties Bill to remove existing anomalies, and a Bill to facilitate the settlement of land is also promised, The predicted revival of prosperity is verified, and it is stated that' there are eigns of further marked improvement in the revenue. The present financial year has shown satisfactory expansion and a surplus.
