ROAD BOARD. Resolved that the riUs in Boach Road and Grey's Road be raked in ; that certain retepaycrs be notified to clear gorse on the roads whero it has spread from their fences; that upon the expiration of the the time allowed by the Act the Chairman be empowered to have all unfinished work done by day labour, at the expense of those who have been duly notified; that Mr Trewavas prepare &2 worth of strychnined wheat for poisoning small birds ; that two days work with cart and two horses be done on Poley Bridge Road ; that Henry Phipps' appointment as poundkeeper and ranger be publicly notified ; that application be made to the Government for the sum of £lUO to open up the land in the Waiweto Valleyi For the supply of horses and carts for 18 months the tender of \V. Eginston was accepted, it being 7s and 8s for cart, with one and two horses respectively, the only other tender being Messrs Snicer and King, 6s and 9s. ■ ' ■ Mr J. McGlashan having offered to gravel Woodland's Lane as far as Rankin's for 10s 4d per chain, and free of charge to fill all ruts with gravel as far as his (Mr McGSlashan's) land, it was resolved that the offer be accepted.
