Stormy Weather.

Though the southerly gale has abated here, ihe captains of vessels arriving report that a heavy sea is still running in the Straits. The Grafton reports a rough passage, and the officers say tbat tbe Charles Edward, bound irom Nelson lo Wellington has goue to Übau Bay for shelter. The Kanieri from the North had a trying time. She left Opunake on Monday last, but had to run for Guard's Bay on Monday night, resuming her voyage at midnight last night. Captain De Wolfe speaks of the sea off Terawhiti as terrific The vessel was flying light, and at times almost stood on end. A barquentine was under Guard's Bay ou Monday night, but the captain could see no signs of her when he left last night. A tremendous sea is still running at the Heads, and there is very little probability of the smaller vessels getting out. The Brnnner sailed for Westport this morning, and when passed by the Grafton whb being roughly treated by the sea.
