Representatives of the athletic govern ing bodies held a conference. this after noon to consider the best means o: securing a proper legal recognition oJ athletic bodies. In view of the growinj importance of athletic organisations, il was deemed advisable that they should bt _ put on some more satisfactory basis, anc that a Registrar should be empowered tc register them as co-operative bodieo. It was resolved tbat steps be taken tc secure the legal incorporation of athletic bodies, and that the Premier be asked tc receive members of conferences as a depu* tation to lay before him the proposals which it was desired should ne given legislative effect to. The conference was called by tbe Now Zealand Rugby Union.
