Mining at the Thames.
I United Press Association.] Thames, May SM. Mr J. W. Walker, the well-known mining expert, better known as " Long Drive Walker," has this afternoon applied for one hundred acres Bpecial claim on the foreshore, which takes in the seaward continuation of the old Caledonian, May Queen and other well-known belts of ore lodes" The amount of cash proposed to be invested for sinking a shaft is thirty-five thousand pounds. This is one of the moat important mining events of the Thames proper for many years.
