Russia and Japan.
[United Press Association.] London, April 26. A correspondent of the Standard asserta that it isthe conviction in Berlin that the Japanese prefer to fight Bussia rather than renounce the annexation of certain Chinese territory which she captured. Many German newspapers, it is said, disapprove of supporting JRussia in her opposition to some of the conditions of peace. Several Parisian papers, too, protest asainst Franca being dragged at the heels of Kussia. _, Later. The Novoe Vremya states that negotia. tions between Rutsia and Japan have taken a favourable turn, and that it is expected that the matters in dispute wiil soon bs settled.
