Tbe Premier lias received information that the surveys in Uriwera were ttopped under misapprehension, tho natives not being aware of the diffcrenco between a survey for triungulntion and one for subdivision Tho Surveyor-General declares .that the statement that tho natives received no notice of the intention ti begin .the survey is incorrect, ns notice was sent from Auckland, and during Mr Cndman's visit Uriwera was explicitly mentioned.
