CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW.
To ensure fho greater success of the Chrysanthemum Show, which is to be op' ucct in (ho Provincial Hill to-morrow afternoon by tho Mayor, intending exhibitors ere urged t<> forward their exhibits as early as possible. The oar'.ier exhibits arc sent in tho better for the Committee, who h'tve to lo?k after their staging, Ac, in time for tlio opening of the Show. Among the .special inducements ol'feivd in tho way of prizes are several for bouquets by Mis; G.iseoigne. Including specials there araiio Iws than nine classes open to exhibitors of bouquet?, and it ij expected that with such inducements as have been offered ihe bouquets, wreaths, floral designs, table decorations, button holes, i£c, will form one of tho most attractive features in tho exhibition. Members of tho Committee ol the Horticultural Ho:ioty were in attendance nt the Provincial Hall from two o'clock this afternoon, and intending exhibitors I will ha able to obtain show cases until tan 1 o'el elt to-night It is hoped that as many members of the CQimvtUteo as ca.n do so will attend this evening to assist in making the necHSiry prcp-triilions, It is desired I that of tho iut -.tided exhibits of pot plants ' as iiuiiy as p Jssibio will ba delivered ivt the Provincial f I ill tin's evening.
Everything is being doiw by the committee to mike the exhibition worthy of Nelson and Ihcvo 13 every reason to hpVieve th-it local florists will x'ua to the occasion and mike a splendid show despite tho recent bad weather which we hear has not done so much injury lo tho blooms as might huve been anticipated. The Chrysanthemums will be judged by Mr F. Cooper of Wellington who 19 an export florist. Exhibitors will bsar inniindthat each may entertwocxhibits for any 0110 prizo and as special chsses have boen provided for those who have not previously won a prize and further seeing that nochai'seismadeforcntrance there shouldba some keen competition. It only remains for florists to second the efforts cl the Society in thoir laudable desire to encourage horticulturists.
