o Messrs Bisley Bros. & Co. report as ' follows ■ — Wool (Season 1894-95).— From advices to hand we notice that over 808,000 hales of wool were sold by public auction in Australia last neason, and that prices ruled equal to above London. Tne bulk of the Nelson consignments were cleared at •s£d to 6Jd. la a few c«3es 7|cl to 8d Were reached, while some lots were cleared as low as 4d. Comparing London returns with Melbourne we find prices are much the same, Nelson ■wools having been sold in London at 4d to Bd, with an average price of 6d per Ib. The lighter cost and quick returns point in favour of Melbourne market, Stock. — At our stock sale held at Motueka Valley lnst week we had a large attendance of the public, but light entries, only some 20 head of cattle and 650 sheep. Fat store cattle we had little demand for, while the whole of the sheep were cleared at an advance of last sale rates. Hops. — We have made sales of new season's hops up to lOd per lb, 54 bales were cleared at 9d, and 128 at Bd. In each case prices wero less "2J per cent f.o.b. Nelson. Eightpence is the lowest price we have yet accepted, and have inquiries for prime bright samples at that figure. Although we hear of other brokers quoting for less money, the max-ket for prime bright heavy conditioned is firm, but for brown aud inferior qualities the market is weak aud shows a downward tendency. Barlkv. — We have placed during tho month some 2,500 sacks of new barley. 3/6, f.o.b. Nelson, for Mr H. Fanzelow's is the highest price obtained for the season. We cleared at 3/3 f.0.b., but the bulk of our sales were cleared at 3s at Nelson station. During the past week prices wero easier, and we sold at 2/11 f.o.b. The barley mai-ket is weak except for prime samples, and bliows an all round fall, which is in sympathy with . -the Sonth. We look for lower rates fofjecoud. quality,
