Mr Wind writes to tlic j\r cw Zealand Times that he asked for the Postal Conference to be fixed at Hobart in order that he might meet other ministers there who would then be at the Federal Council. At the same time he informed the Postmaster General of Victoria that he was going on to Melbourne and could attend thore jf the Conference could not bo held at Hobart. The other colonies, however, considerately fixed the dale and place to suit him. Dunkwn, This Day. It is intended to give a banquet to Mr Ward at the end of the week,
