Police v. James Breen.— The accused was charged with stealing from Alfred Stringer, at Gibbstown, Lyell, a silver watch, silver chain, and locket, and a gold ring of the value of £12. There were also two other chargess against the accused, who was remanded for eight days to the Lyell on all five charges, on the application of Sergt.-Major Pratt.

Wilson Heaps v John Hogg.— ln this case Mr Maginnity appeared for the plaintiff, Mr Harley for the defendant, and Mr Pitt on behalf of Messrs Bisley Bros. Mr Fell, who was retained on behalf of the Bank, could not appear, and on the application of Mr Harley, an adjournment was granted for one week.

On five informations against the defendant which Avere laid under section 29 of The Beer Act, 1880, Mr Maginnity, acting for the Collector of Customs, applied to amend the form ot the informations, bringing them under the regulations, and to withdraw one. The amendments wore granted. We understand that in addition to the above, further informations are still to be laid.

Mr Pitt moved under sec. 157 thatan order should be given by the Court on the Waimea County Council for a sum of money due ro David Wadsworth (against Avhoni judgment in a debt case hau been obtaine*}) at Brightwater to be paid to W. Painton, storekeeper at Wakefield. In this case an adjournment Avas made for 24 hours to enable counsel to obtain a certificate of tlie "judgement.
