Death of Premier of Canada.
L ndon, December 13. Sir J. S. D. Thompson Avas suddenly seized with illness Avhile at luncheon in Windsor Castle. Brandy was administered, and the stimulant caused him to revive, but the improvement was only temporary, for he soon afterwards fell back anfl expired s«d-
detily. It is thought that the cause of death was heart disease. The Queen has hot been informed of his death. An inquest will be held at Windsor Castle.
The medical men have certified that Sir J. Thompson's death was the retult of syncope, and no inquest was necessary. The Queen was greatly grieved on hearing of his sad death,

The news of Sir J. Thompson's death caused a *j*».ofound sensation throughout Canada.
It is expected that Mr McKenzie Bowell, Minister of Trade and Commerce will be summoned by the Governor-General to take charge of the Government.
