Inquest.

Inquest. An inquest was held on Thomas Edward Yates, who died on board the s.s. Takapuna on the voyage from New Plymouth to Onehunga. From the evidence adduced, the dejeased bad apparently been drinking on tbe Aorangi, on the passage out, and came on board the Takapuna in a debilitated condition, and was fonnd dead in bis bunk. A pott mortem showed that the cause of death was congestion of the longs npon a constitution already debilitated by ohronio alcoholism. A verdict was returned in acoordanoe with the medical evidenoe.
