Reduction of Interest.
Wellington, This Day. The Government has deoided to reduce the rata of interest on deposits in the Pjßb Oflioe Swings Biuk by a half per cent. Ctiis course was resolved upon in consequence of the difficulty of finding profitable investments for deposits lodged in the department, together with the fact that the rates of. interest have fallen generally throughout the country. The reduorian takes eff.ot from to-day.
