It is notified in the Gazette thit a Post Office has been opened at Pakawau and that Mr B. Riley has beea appointed Postmaster, Ie is also notified that a postal note office has been opened at Tadmor. Mr C. H. Mill.*, M.H.R.; will address his constituents at Wakefield this evening. We have received from Mr A . A Soaif e, agent for the Australian Mutual Provident Society, a copy of the forty-fourth annual report for 1892. This old-established Society maintains its prosperity notwithstanding burd times in Australia. The new business for the year was very large, amounting to 12,585 policies for £3.701,221, and the total new premiums were £144,776. The accumulated fund increased by £796,411, and now amounts t> £11,323,448. After making all neceeaary appropriations there is a surplus of funds over liabilities of £662,272, of whioh it has been resolved to allot £504,261 fur distribution among the member.*. This will provide reversionary bonuses amounting to about £1,030,000.
