Slit,— Seeing correspondence signed by soveral individuals of Nilo street Ejst re dog nuisnnoo I beg to state, as I am an owner of dogs I feel oompelled to reply now. As to the first letter (if the writer is alluding to the animals in our possession) why does he not complain personally instead of rushing into priut under a norn de plume, whioh is no more or less than " a stub ia tlie dark ? " I foel convinced that there is no owner of » dog in our street who would not have thu nuisance abated if spoken to in a straightforward and manly mauner. Now as to No 2. I did not know that Mr Naßh had a epeoial brand lor a Ni'e Street East dog, so that it oould easily ba recognised from any other dog in the world, Perhaps my friend will supply me with the ueoeasaiy information inasmuch as I am quite ignorant of the faot. But lo and behold of the comparison of a howling dog to the sweat sweefc strains of a Sootobmana oobla bagpipea I What a slur to oasl on a full blooded Soot 1 But avon he appeals for help, and invites a ohevy-ohaee, against the oanine anarohists, whioh if forthcoming will be a treat in store for the Nilo Street residents to witness, 1 trust my friend will send me a Bueoial invitation, inasmuch as I shall be anxious to behold this doggerel tragedy entitled " United they come, divided they part."
