WEiiLiNflxos, Maroh 20, A fatal aooident ooeurred in the Forty Mile Bush this morning. A man named Oharlej Stewart was working for Messrs Williams Brothers, road contractors, on Maogaone road, about 15 miles from Pahiatua, in a outtiog, when a large boulder that was in the face ot tho cutting rolled on him. He was knocked to pieces, and his entrails were scattered abcut the ground. Tha man is loot known to have any fiiends in the neighbourhood.
The sale of oity properties on behalf ot the Bank of New Zealand Estates Company realised good prices. In several instances however, the reserve prices were not reached' aud the property waa withdrawn, The Aoting-Govercor, Minister of Defence and oflicera of H.M.S. Tauranga paid a v j 9 ft to fif astertoa to-day, returning in the evening
