SgK- -.^ Lyttelton, This Day. ia the Duke of Buckingham enqSEraKwaa given to-day, when the Court cohslderea that the steamer could nofc have been steaming her proper course. The compass must bave been in error. The captain was fco blame for nofc taking the ship further out when told she was drawing near to land and he Bhould nofc have leffc the deck on such a dirty squally nighfc. The Court took into consideration the captain's coolness and j udgment after striking, and suspended hiß certificate for three months; he paying fche costs of the enquiry £13 133. The second and third officers' certificates were returned. The captain gave notioe of appeal.
